Dove Intense Care Therapy Conditioner with Repairing Serum.

My hair is very dry and damaged due to frequent straightening and I normally use Pantene Pro V conditioner for dry and damaged hair, which is the only thing that will stop my hair from feeling like straw. On my trip to Asda at the weekend though they had run out of Pantene, so I decided to try this product as it was reduced from £2.99 to £1 and Dove is a pretty well known and trusted brand so I had high expectations. The conditioner comes in a blue plastic 200ml bottle that is shaped a bit like a surfboard. The writing on the back states that “the advanced repairing serum in the formulation contains millions of micro particles that help repair severe accumulated damage by penetrating into the finest lines and breaks on the hair surface. It prevents split ends from re-appearing without weighing hair down.” I wanted to know how long I should leave it on for, but there are no instructions on the back of the bottle; I know most conditioners normally tell you to leave it on for 2 minutes and then rinse but as my hair is so dry I usually opt for 5. Trying to get the conditioner out of the bottle was my first problem, it may have just been me being weak or a fault with the bottle, but I really did struggle to squeeze out enough conditioner for my hair. Once out however it smelt really lovely and had a pearly white colour like most conditioners. It was easy to apply to and wash off of my hair and left my wet hair feeling ok and not like straw. Once my hair had dried (naturally) it looked and felt ok but not amazing, I definitely get better results with Pantene, but this was only £1 and I feel I got the result I would expect from any other cheap conditioner. After 4 washes the results are still the same, average looking and feeling hair but it smells really good. I would not buy this product for its full price of £2.99, especially as for £2.98 I could get double the amount of Pantene, however if I was on a budget and this was still going for £1 I would give it another go. I would recommend buying this product cheaper either in Asda or on ebay (see links below) to avoid the disappointment of spending a lot of money on a product that might not work for you. This product would be good for anyone with hair that doesn’t need a lot of special treatment.
Pros: Cheap at the moment, smells really nice, works to an extent.
Cons: Doesn’t make your hair look or feel amazing, at full price it is quite expensive considering the quantity you get.
